Who is writing this
I am a Chartered Accountant based in Mumbai. My professional work spans statutory audit, direct tax, GST, and corporate compliance. This website is a personal space to write what I think, question what I know, and share what the work has taught me.
Good writing about the CA profession is rare. Most of what exists is either too technical to be readable or too simplified to be useful. I try the middle path: precise enough to be accurate, plain enough to be understood.

My story
From student to Chartered Accountant.
I started my CA journey the way most do — with a stack of ICAI study material, an articleship offer, and more questions than answers. The early years were formative in ways that go beyond technical knowledge. Sitting across the table from a business owner explaining why a deduction is unavailable, or spending late nights reconciling a trial balance, teaches you things that no textbook can.
Over time, I found myself not just doing the work but trying to understand it more deeply — reading case laws, following circulars, watching how policy changes ripple through real businesses. That curiosity found an outlet in writing.
I started writing to clarify my own thinking. If I could not explain a concept in plain language, I did not understand it well enough. That discipline has made me sharper at the work — and I hope reading it does the same for others.
